It is hard to come up with Christmas gifts for people who already seem to have everything. But there are few— if any— people who can keep up with the flood of books coming off the presses. Books can be good gifts for such people.

Obama’s Lies About His Broken Promises
Last week, President Barack Obama was backpedaling like a circus unicycle rider, after his compromise on extending Bush-era tax cuts for the country’s top 2 percent of income earners. Because he had pledged repeatedly during his presidential campaign to raise those earners’ taxes, he instantly was slammed by his political base. Even pro-Obama comedic commentators Jon Stewart and Bill Maher were left humor-speechless.

Whining of the One Overrides the Rule of the Many
One of the most basic foundations in the United States is that the majority of the people rule. However, in the past 50 years, that foundation is being steadily replaced with a different foundation that states that the screaming and crying few will rule over the majority.

Faith is the Source of America's Greatness
“America is great because she is good.” Those famous words by Alexis de Tocqueville still hold true as they did when he spoke them centuries ago. In the holiday season, we see repeated demonstrations of this goodness. De Tocqueville also noted, “The Americans combine the notions of religion and liberty so intimately in their minds, that it is impossible to make them conceive of one without the other.”

In 1976, I stood beside my father in Kansas City after he lost the Republican presidential nomination to Gerald Ford. I asked him why he wanted to be president of the United States.

America’s Real Bullies (Update)
New Jersey has passed an aggressive anti-bullying statute. The “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights,” as it’s called, was in process before the suicide of Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi who had been videoed while engaged in a homosexual encounter. Making the video public was not bullying since Rutgers University is pro-homosexual and where homosexuality is considered a sexual sacrament. America’s real bullies are those organizations and government entities that impose a pro-homosexual agenda on an unwilling public.

The Proof That There Is No Global Warming
My overall gut reaction when I first started hearing about the global warming problem was that it is “penny wise and pound foolish” (if there even is a penny). That is, the effects of it (if it is even true as a phenomenon) are so far in the future, while very bad things are going on in the present (like abortion, the breakup of the family, addictions, unpunished crime, rampant depression, homelessness, etc.). So then why aren’t we just concentrating on those things? The reason is: they are issues behind the smoke screen that liberals don’t want people to look behind. Magicians know this trick well. That is, you get people to focus on one thing, and then you do your trick where they aren’t looking.

Taxing the "rich"? No, ruining America!
President Obama has long been an envy-mongering demagogue, and is not above Marxist class warfare rhetoric. For example, he insists that the "rich" aren't paying their 'fair share', just as Hillary Clinton has said, as well as Tim Geithner, himself a tax cheat.

Leftist envy-mongering: Equality v Freedom
If the 10th commandment were kept (against coveting), there would be no leftist politics at all! So naturally the Left don’t come out and admit that they are fostering covetousness. Instead, they disguise the truth by high-sounding concern about “the growing gap between the rich and the poor.” Regardless, this rhetoric hurts the poor, just like most leftist policies.

Why the Lame Duck Session of Congress is So Dangerous
To understand Washington DC, you have to first stop listening to the rhetoric, and start watching the behavior. As TV character Michael Weston aptly puts it, “Watch my actions, not my words.” Underneath all the bluster, we live in a single party country where the Republicans and Democrats are just different factions of a big-government loving elite feasting on the plunder of an enormous bureaucracy.
