Pakistan Monsoons--World Muslims Not Helping Muslims
Pakistan is an Islamic nation of about 35 Million that has been hit by flooding from monsoons affecting as many as 20 Million Pakistanis and 1/5th of the country, having created incomprehensible havoc to a nuclear power that is already failing in its struggle to control and eliminate Al Qaeda. The floods are not over and the Indus River plain is a vast expanse of fertile land covering about 200,000 square miles, but the Indus River is now 40 times its normal volume. Humanitarian needs are vital but the world is oblivious to the extent of the tragedy, probably because of the relatively low number of fatalities.

There are 1.3 Billion Muslims in the 57 Islamic countries in the world and at an average of a dollar each, the flooding disaster affecting 20 Million Pakistanis driven from their homes that flooded millions of acres of Pakistan’s best cropland, drowning livestock, and threats of Cholera, can be erased. Where are the Muslim contributions to help troubled Muslim brothers?
Muslims are not commanded to assist non-Muslims. To do so is a waste of money, because they are going to Hell anyway. The Qur'an and Hadith command that money flow either between Muslims or from non-Muslims to Muslims (Qur'an 9:29).
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/027-disaster-relief.htm states that neither has the Islamic community ever been particularly keen on disaster relief, even for Muslim victims. This is because the Qur'an teaches that disasters that befall communities are punishment from Allah.
What compelling reason is there to assist Islamic countries in desperate need when they refuse to help their very own? Billions for war, violence, and insurrection; but none for compassion; none for food, shelter, clothing, and medical attention?
1.3 Billion Muslims in the world could resolve the Pakistan tragedy in a New York Minute, but it is practically against their religion to give aid for those suffering from disasters, attributing them to the deity as retribution for wrong-doing.
Muhammad routinely used natural disaster as a threat to compel others to believe in his claim to be a prophet. The Qur'an specifically says that earthquake and famine are sent by Allah as punishment for the sin of the people (usually unbelief). There is no theological basis for helping those whom Allah is trying to hurt.
Muslims hold that non-believers are the "vilest of animals" and commanded to be ruthless toward them: Qur'an (8:55) - Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve Qur'an (48:29) - Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. The zakat (almsgiving) may be one of the five pillars of Islam, but the Hadith only speaks of it as a requirement to help fellow Muslims ("taken from among you and distributed among you"). In fact, international Muslim charities in general have a greater reputation for funding terrorism and hate than actually attending to the victims of natural disaster.
Muslim charity to the poor is heavily tainted by ulterior political agenda, such as the fact that most such international efforts go toward Palestinians, while aid for the victims of Darfur (who are being oppressed by an Islamic regime) is virtually nil, even though their situation is far more dire by any conceivable measure. Out of a religion that brags of one-fifth of the world's population, there are no international Islamic charities that take money from Muslims to help non-Muslims in need.
Al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists have been wreaking havoc on both sides of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border using the crisis to build more resentment toward the U.S. in order to win new adherents for their terrorist cause. The Islamic world is quick to blame all ills on the U.S. while ignoring the fact that it is the U.S. that is generally among the first responders to a natural disaster and is generally the largest benefactor.
The devastation in Pakistan is likely to worsen as the monsoon rains and flooding continues. But even an end to the rains won’t end the emergency. This year’s crops were decimated and next year’s crops must be planted. There is an enormous challenge of rebuilding Pakistan ’s infrastructure, bridges, roads, structures and agricultural and economic base. Will the challenge be met by insurrection and the capture of the nuclear stockpile by terrorists?
