Patriot Update - A Free Press for the Conservative Revolution

Q: In the current cultural and political clash of “increasing freedoms” vs. “conservative values,” you say that you can explain why there is no question that conservative values should prevail. So then, why should they?

A: Because this really is not an issue of 'freedom' vs. 'suppression of freedom', as liberals paint it to be. It is an issue of freedom vs. freedom. That is; it is the desire of liberals to want to make legal and culturally acceptable: gay rights, gay marriage, pornography, abortion, 'no mention of God or religion in mainstream institutions', 'light punishments for criminals', etc. VS. my and most others’ freedom to live, be married in and raise our children in a moral society whose values allow them to be safe; form a marriage that functions well and is free from the influence, temptations and peer pressure of moral corruption; be fiscally responsible; have inner and outer peace; etc.

So then, which side should prevail in this clash of freedoms? Obviously it is the one that causes health and peace and is in harmony with human functioning the way it is naturally designed to operate smoothly. Sexual diseases, the intense pain from broken hearts and broken families, and emotional suffering are all feedback from nature and nature’s Creator that harmony is not only not being achieved, but these unpleasant experiences are nature's way to steer us away from the behaviors that cause the suffering.

But another point to be made here is that the denial of God and Biblical values is also denying people what I've found to be the only cure for the problems that drive people to addictions and cause them pain: strict adherence to God’s directions for us in the Bible and through our hearts via His Spirit. (And I have a 40 year background in psychology, religion, personal growth and successfully freeing many people from addiction to back up that statement).

So not only am I trying to prevent unnatural (and offensive to our Creator) behavior from being culturally and legally accepted, but I'm stating that people who fall prey to the temptations and lures of the world, because they are incomplete in some way, can find completeness and inner health in following the ways of the Bible.

So I think that it is cruel to young people (and all people for that matter) to allow immorality in our culture. And it is also cruel to deny people who are having problems, the only thing that I've found to offer them a cure, by suppressing, censoring and not supporting God and the Bible. So it is an aim of Americans For Biblical Values to work to rectify both of those errors in our society.

Therefore, when voting, we should not only vote for candidates who have good economic insights and alliances, but also the ones who have a good understanding of natural morals, because out of those morals will flow a natural understanding of good economic policies and solutions for the economic problems too. And economically on the personal level, clean hearts will be more productive and economically successful. Plus God promises in the Bible that He will see to it that the basic needs of those who truly follow Him will be taken care of.

Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”
