This nation will never solve its drug problem until it solves its "sin" problem!
It has been reported in the news recently how many teenagers have now turned to heroin as a drug of choice, and how this is even very prevalent in suburban communities, where kids have the finances to pursue drug use.

The D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Administration) says that this problem must be resolved “in families and faith communities.” But what the D.E.A. isn’t recognizing is that the society makes it very hard for families and faith communities to draw kids away from drugs when in its media, education systems and entertainment industries it allows the promotion of the exact things that cause the kids angst and drives them to seeking relief from that angst in drugs and alcohol.
And there are two main sources of this angst: (1) hopelessness in being able to ground their natural romantic drive in a safe way (due to the rampant immorality in the entertainment industries, pornography, politically correct stances regarding homosexuality and condoms, etc.), and (2) the inability of people to attain inner peace because of all of the tenets of political correctness that are atheistic, anti-family and against the normal progression of romance and marriage.
So because people intuitively know that there is something better but may not know how to get to it (because they are confused by the politically correct laws and stances in the “mainstream” institutions and the resulting peer pressures), they go for the feelings that would come about naturally (if people were living in harmony with nature) in any way that can even get close to those feelings. And alcohol and drugs are one way to artificially come close to those feelings. By risking their health, relationships and finances, people are making the statement (and correctly so) that those feelings (peace, love, joy, spirituality) are more important than anything else.
I used heroin once in my youth and can attest to the fact that it does give a high sense of peace. But it also made me throw up. So I never used it again. But it did entice me to want to know why I couldn’t have that peace naturally. That set me on a search to find out if there was an answer to that question. To make a long story short, that included me going through many psychologists, psychiatrists and methods of personal growth, I did find out how to naturally have that peace (as well as joy, security, confidence, and a clean life): making Jesus the head of my life … not just “believing” in Him, but actually “following” Him, by doing what He says, maintaining a high sensitivity to His Spirit, and taking His mission to heart.
So based on what I found and how I found it, I created a method that shows an individual how to find the same thing, irrespective of the maturity or lack of it in the society. And this method has worked for many others, which can be seen in some of the letters I’ve received, which are posted at my website: http://AddictionFreeForever.com.
My program is very inexpensive and doesn’t require a clinic stay, (after which stays most have returned to drugs). My program also brings a person to not have to say “I’m a recovering…”. They end up saying “I’m an EX…”. And that is because, once a person has achieved a good inner state, drugs and alcohol become physically repulsive (bad taste, losing control, not a good state change).
But my method does include reconnecting with our creator. And in fact, unless a person becomes skilled at that, I don’t see a way for them to achieve a permanent end to a weakness for alcohol or drugs. Therefore, I think that this nation is just shooting itself in the foot regarding its drug problem if it thinks that it can simultaneously have political correctness and no drug problem. I mean think about it, was there a big drug problem in this country before political correctness entered the scene? No. Anyone who lived in the fifties (myself included) will tell you that there was a LOT more love, peace, public safety, patriotism, romance, reverence for God, achievement drive, and natural enthusiasm then. (And in response to how I can anticipate liberals responding to what I just said) it was also better for blacks and women back then.
So in conclusion, until this country gives up its attachment to “political correctness” (which really is “natural incorrectness” and anti-God) and ends the climate of walking on eggshells when it comes to including God in the discussions in its search for solutions, and uplifts good role models of good living and scorns the current role models of bad living, it will continue to have people (especially teens and young adults) fishing for peace and love and deep spirituality in any way they can. And two of the biggest ways they fish are sex and alcohol/drugs. So the question now becomes: will this nation ever become desperate enough to allow God and His solutions back into the “mainstream” public discourse? I for one will keep trying to make that happen ☺
