Media Demands That President Obama Start "Acting Black"

Some of the same members of the media, who once sold us on the idea of President Obama being a post racial and post partisan President more than two years ago, are demanding that he gets tougher with his political opponents or in their words, “act black” in order to save his presidency. The left is now embittered because the card house that is Obama has crashed in upon itself, leaving him no other choice, but to comprise with congressional republicans in order to avoid gridlock and move forward on his agenda.

Is WikiLeaks the Beginning of a New Form of Media?

As WikiLeaks continues to release classified diplomatic cables, and fights to remain online and solvent, it’s becoming increasingly clear what’s happening has less to do with WikiLeaks itself, and more to do with what seems to be a new form of media emerging: not a news or journalism entity specifically, but a kind of media middleman that exposes secret or undiscovered information, which can then become a source of news. Could WikiLeaks — and similar efforts it appears to be spawning — become a crucial new part of the digital media ecosystem?

The View: Opt Out Day Protestors Are Like Terrorists

The ladies of “The View” discussed National Opt Out Day, which took place on November 24th, wherein passengers boycotted the – as O’Reilly once called them – “super naked scanners” to send a message about respecting our civil liberties to the bureaucrats running TSA. I found Whoopi Goldberg’s remarks to be typical but was shocked that conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck is willing to give up some liberty for safety.

Sex Columnist Berates CNN (on CNN) for Letting Conservatives Speak

CNN has demonstrated strongly and repeatedly that it does not believe in objectivity or fairness in reporting on homosexuality. On Tuesday's Newsroom, CNN anchor Kyra Phillips touted a new study from the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center that added some of the nation's leading social conservative groups -- including the Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, the National Organization for Marriage, the American Family Association, and the Traditional Values Coalition -- to its registry of "hate groups" like the Ku Klux Klan.

Ground Zero Mosque Developer An NBC "Person Of The Year"

It seems like just as the Ground Zero mosque controversy was receding, NBC has decided to stoke the flames of passion again by naming the project’s developer Sharif El-Gamal a “Person Of The Year“. Gee, NBC once again demonstrates how far out of touch it is with mainstream America? There’s a shock.

Jon Stewart Skewers Beck the Right Way

We at Big Journalism are all about credit where credit is due, and unlike most left wingers (and even some others) who have been taking shots at Beck this last week, Stewart ridiculed Beck for his entire show (pre-interview) last night to great effect without resorting to a bogus charge of bigotry. Attacking the substance of Beck’s “The Puppet Master” series is absolutely fair game for those who disagree, and there is ample territory to make that case.

MSNBC's Schultz: Free Speech for Me but Not for Thee

Americans have seen what speech codes do to freedom in other countries, past and present. But not to be outdone MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, a man who encouraged voter fraud, said he’d urinate on Hugh Hewitt, and admitted to wanting to kill a former Vice President, says its actually Rush Limbaugh who should be penalized in some way for exercising his freedom of speech.

Exclusive First Look: Sarah Palin's Alaska

When we think of reality show, we think trashy housewives and serial dating, but this is not your typical reality show. Instead, Sarah Palin's Alaska is a unique look into faith, family, love, strong American values and the natural beauty Alaska has to offer. “It really goes into the life of Sarah Palin not the politics of it,” Roxy Stahl from Motive Entertainment tells Townhall, adding that the show is designed to be a documentary rather than a reality series, showcasing the great outdoors.

TIME: Happy Meal Ban Doesn't Go Far Enough

Last week's elections may have seemed like a repudiation of liberalism, but the San Francisco board of supervisors appeared unfazed. The city's governing body went ahead and fired a bunker buster into the Happy Meal, decreeing that restaurants cannot put free toys in meals that exceed set thresholds for calories, sugar or fat. Libertarians are livid, parents are peeved and even advocates of healthier fast food think the ban will be counterproductive. "One of the reasons why the healthy-eating lobby still meets with such resistance is that it is seen as a conspiracy of killjoys and nanny-statists trying to force us to give up everything fun and delicious and to eat wet dishcloths instead," notes Henry Dimbleby, whose health-minded Leon chain in Britain serves kids' meals with a side of rice and peas along with a badge, sticker and activity book. "Now they want to steal our children's toys too?"
