Gosh, That Obama's a Smart Guy

Robert Gibbs says Obama's main objective is to make sure that there is no middle class tax increase. Uh, how can that be? There was not a middle-class tax cut, I thought, President Obama? Somebody is gonna have to ram it down these guys' throats at some point: "What do you mean you're worried about extending these middle-class tax cuts? I didn't think there were any!" In fact, go to audio sound bite 24, Ed. This afternoon at Blair House, at a meeting of newly elected governors, Obama spoke on taxes and said this

US Economy Will Rebound Despite All of Obama's Efforts to Destroy It

What happened to cause all this? At what point did the confluence of "nothing is real" finally surface? I don't know one thing that the Fed is doing that is opposite from FDR. I can't find one thing. The opposite of FDR would be lower taxes and cut federal spending. We're doing none of that. We're gonna raise taxes and we're increasing federal spending, whether spending from the Fed or from Congress or what have you. The Fed's doing... (sigh) I don't know. I just don't see it. We're just doing more of FDR here, which is why Krugman likes it. But even for him it's not enough.

Is Anything Real? Trillions in Secret Fed Payments Revealed

The TARP money was not used for its original purpose. There's something else out there, Jordan, you need to know. The Federal Reserve, before the TARP bailout, made loans totaling $2 trillion and they will not tell us to whom. We don't know who got the money. Whether the Fed loans it or the government prints it, it's our money. So you can talk about the $700 billion TARP. You can talk about the $787 billion stimulus. That's nothing compared to the amount of money that the Federal Reserve lent people at the same time: $2 trillion. We don't know where it went and they will not tell us.

Mantra: GOP Holds Nation Hostage

Let me ask you a question. How can the Obama regime and their lackeys in the media even be talking about an economic recovery if it at the same time Austan Goolsbee, the White House chief economist, says that not extending unemployment again will throw us into a depression and cost us at least 600,000 jobs? I mean that doesn't compute, that doesn't sound like the lingo of an economic recovery. Forget the insanity here of the notion that if we don't extend unemployment again, in other words, if we do not continue to pay people not to work it will somehow cost us 600,000 jobs. Won't it guarantee us 600,000 jobs lost if we keep paying people not to work? I'm sorry, folks, I can't come here and suspend my logic. The logic on this program deflates some people.

An Analysis of Hapless Economic Reporting by the State-Run Media

Guess what's back? Republicans want to starve the kids. I mean, they haven't even taken over the House yet, the Democrats still run the show there. Republicans are still in a huge minority right now in the House of Representatives, and yet here we go, it's right out of the playbook. Republicans starve kids. "House Republicans have temporarily blocked legislation to feed school meals to thousands more hungry children." My heart bleeds. "Republicans used a procedural maneuver Wednesday to try to amend the $4.5 billion bill, which would give more needy children the opportunity to eat free lunches at school and make those lunches healthier. First lady Michelle Obama has lobbied for the bill as part of her 'Let's Move' campaign to combat childhood obesity."

Nancy Pelosi's Bipolarpartisanship

Today is Thursday and the Democrats in the House led by Pelosi -- oh, and I love this. Boehner is going to get rid of Pelosi's climate change committee. Now, Sensenbrenner, who is on the committee, a Republican, he didn't want to get rid of the committee because he wanted to use the committee to expose the Obama administration and the Democrats in how they're utilizing this whole thing as a fraud and a hoax. And Boehner said, no, no, no, don't worry about that, we're gonna shut it down and we're gonna put you on the science committee and you can do your work over there, we're gonna get rid of the committee. Also, I cannot believe this. With all that's gone on, do you know that there is not a women's room off the floor of the House of Representatives? There has not been a women's room. Female members of Congress have had to walk a long hallway to some nether region of the Capitol building to use the restroom. The men, of course, have a restroom right off the floor.

CNN on Pronouncing "Assange"

Something happened on CNN last night, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, I don't understand this. They're wasting audio and video on this over at CNN. This is a report on how people are pronouncing his last name. CNN actually has a long report featuring Jeanne Moos, and here's how it sounded.

Van Jones on Fox News: Satan is everywhere

Van Jones is a militant communist who wants to rip America's heart out and replace it with his big government utopia - so if anyone is up on Satan's whereabouts, it's him. All kidding aside, the left is not backing down on its attempts to take out Fox News. Obama's spiritual advisor also recently called Fox News "assassins" in regards to Obama's spirituality.

Feds bailed out Euro banks

Glenn warned this was going to happen - many weeks ago Glenn talked about how nations have structured their economies in such a way that we are all tied together. Mutually assured destruction - if one fails, we all fail. It was originally designed as a way to prevent war (fail) and now it could drag us all down. Even socialist Bernie Sanders isn't down with this.

Delaying Tax Vote Could Crash Stock Market

Failure by Congress to extend the Bush tax cuts, especially locking in the 15 percent capital gains tax rate, will spark a stock market sell off starting December 15 as investors move to lock in gains at a lower rate than the 20 percent it would jump to next year, warn analysts. While it is unclear how bad the sell off could be, it could wipe out the year's gains, they warn. "Capital gains tax rate will increase from 15 to 20 percent if the tax cuts are not extended. The last time the capital gains tax rate increased--on Jan. 1, 1987 from 20 to 28 percent--investors realized their gains at the lower tax rate," said Daniel Clifton at a Washington partner at Strategas Research Partners. "We would expect a similar effect this time around as investors see the tax rate going up and choose to realize their gains and incur the 15 percent tax."
